By accident.

Super Monday Night Combat, a free-to-play MOBA-ish shooter from Uber Entertainment, has accidentally slipped onto Steam, despite still being in its closed beta stage of development.

Super Monday Night Combat’s release was originally scheduled further down the road, but the developers have decided to “just open it up” after a series of confusion. Here’s what Uber Entertainment’s Art Director and Executive Producer Chandana Ekanayake had to say about the situation: “We did a bunch of invites over the weekend and there was some wonkiness on how the messaging went out with lots of confusion which resulted in more silliness. We decided to just open it up. There will be an announcement about it on Steam soon.” He wrote on the Super Monday Night Combat forums.

“Fuck it, we’re doing it live.” he later tweeted.

Uber Entertainment has since released the game’s latest update, packed with a slew of bug fixes, improvements and new content. Read more about the update here.

The game is now live on Steam. You can download it here.
